The Teen Review

Read any good books lately?  Or want to see if anyone else has? Then check out Auburn Library's new "Teen Review," a book review section on the Auburn Library website.  You can quickly make an account, review your favorite books with a few fascinating sentences and eith keep it to yourself or publicize it for the work to see!  How do you get to this great new feature?  Just go to the teen section of http://www.auburnlibrary.org/ and click ont he link.  Or visit the online teen newsletter and find the link from there.  Thanks and have fun reviewing and chatting about good 'ol books! :)

Advisory Board: An Interview

What is an advisory board?
It is a group composed of kids ages 10 and up who have an interest in what is happening at the library for their age group.
What does an advisory board do?
We discuss programming, teen space, selection of books, movies and music.  We plan events, work on publicity and fundraising.  Some of our members actively work on this newsletter.
Why should someone join?
It's a great place to meet others who are interested in books and share your input.  It's a way to have your voice heard about what you want at the library.  Plus every time you attend a meeting you earn volunteer credits to be used for shcool, honor societies, scouts and it looks good on a college application.
What are meeting like?
They're like family meetings - or a discussion group, though we do have an agenda with points to discuss.

The Grimm Legacy

Elizabeth works at the New York Circulating Materials Depository - a library of things.  She's eager to gain access tothe Special Grimm Collection which contains magical items need a special deposit for circulation. But when some items go missing, it's up to Elizabeth and her new friends to find out what's going on.  This is a great read - imaginative and fun.  If only our library had a special collection like this.
