Don't Miss Our Special Event

Falconer Julie Ann Collier will be visiting with her feathered friends to teach teens about the Medieval sport of falconry.  Thought to be the sport of kings, this partnership between bird and man has fascinated many throughout history.  Ms. Collier will bring some of her birds to demonstrate the characteristics of these particular hunting birds.  She will also discuss the lifestyle behind falconry and the sport's ultimate decline.  It's a fascinating look at history and at a relationship that is generally wary by nature.  You don't want to miss this event!  Please note that this event is sponsored by the Auburn Cultural Council and is a one time only event coming February 20.  Don't forget to tell your friends.

Legend

Marie Lu

Set in a dystopian United States where the West is the "Republic" at war with its neighbors, "Legend" by Marie Lu is an action-packed tale that keeps you reading!  I loved how the story switched perspectives from fifteen-year-old Day (a wanted criminal living in the slums) to fifteen-year-old June (a military detective).  They are supposed to be enemies.  And they are ... that is until they meet each other and are forced to reassess their notions of this dystopian world and the people in it.
