Teen Advisory Board Outing

The Teen Advisory Board visited Barnes and Noble on Friday, March 22, to buy books for the children's and teen departments at the library.  This event was open to Advisory Board Members only.  The kids had a lot of fun and bought a total of 111 books for the library.

How Do We Come Up with this Stuff

Lock-ins, trips to the movies, crafts, Halloween parties, angry bird events - have you ever wondered how the library comes up with these program ideas?  Many of these programs come from kids just like you.  The Teen Advisory Board works with the Youth Services Librarian, Miss Renee, to create a variety of events for you.  Sometimes Miss Renee suggests the ideas and the Board members give their opinion and sometimes they give their ideas to Miss Renee and she tells whether an event will work.  Do you have some great ideas?  Come to a Teen Advisory Board meeting and find out what it's all about and share your ideas there.    Meetings are held at 6:00 pm every 4th Tuesday of each month.  Please come and join us.

"It Came from the Library"

Coming soon to the library near you!  October 14-20 is Teen Read Week.  The library will have a variety of teen only events to celebrate teen reading.  Our online month long program will let teens track their reading plus offer their opinions.  All those actively participating in the online program will be entered into a raffle for a $25.00 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble.  Visit www.readsinma.org/auburn in October to register.

With Teen Read week comes a variety of activities you don't want to miss.  We have trailer contest where you can produce your own book trailer or join us to design your own book bag. Don't forget our Teen Lock-In on October 12th.   These events do require registration. Summer is just around the corner - are you ready?

Summer can be loads of fun but there are days when you don't have anything to do and it can get - BORING!  Well don't get bored, come visit the library.
