Great Scavenger Hunt Remodeled
If you were a part of the Great Scavenger Hunt hosted by Kay Cassidy we have some not so great news. The Hunt is no longer being run as a year round program. Due to funding the Hunt is now going to be run only during the summer months. This change will happen April first - so if you're in the middle of a book hurry and finish. The library will still be supporting the Hunt during the summer months. And YES Hunt reading will count towards the library's summer reading program. If you would like more information please visit Miss Renee at the library.

Michael is special and it has nothing to do with his Tourette's Syndrome. He's electric and when he meets Taylor he discovers he's not the only one. Soon he and Taylor are fighting for their lives and the world from those who accidentally created them. This book is action packed. I couldn't put it down. Definitely a must read!

Are You Interested?
The youth services librarian, Miss Renee is currently planning the library's summer reading program. Yes it is January, but such a program takes a lot of work. Miss Renee is currently working on an idea that would involve teens and kids alike in the promoting of the summer program.
Here is her idea. She would like to create a movie or a commercial that advertises the summer reading program. A small skit that could be burned to disk and passed out among the schools. It would provide a backdrop to her elementary school visits and be a way to reach the middle and high school students. Plust it could be placed on the local cable channel as a promotional video. It sounds like a great idea.
It will required a lot of work. And Miss Renee is hoping that teens and kids will want to help. There is the creation of a skit, set, costumes, casting, filming and editing and so much more.

Join Miranda as she retells a year of life in New York City - life at school, working at a sandwich shop and at home with her family. This is a tale of friendships, of mystery and even some magic. Its Newbery Medal was well-deserved for this clever read was filled with surprises!
